Maryna Pohlman

Maryna Pohlman is a versatile freelance trumpet player based in Bloomington, Indiana. Her diverse  career has spanned a wide range of musical experiences, from touring and studio work to orchestral performances.  

As a performer, Maryna has toured as Principal Trumpet with the Netflix and BBC Original  series “Our Planet” Live in Concert USA Tour, as well as recording on the Funk Recording Studio soundtrack for the SGame video game, Honor of Kings. Maryna is a founding member of the trumpet  ensemble, The Calla Project which made their debut at the 2024 Utah Trumpet Guild Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 2022, she made her international debut touring across Costa Rica in the 27 Festival de Música: BAC Credomatic.

Maryna has been a featured soloist with the Utah Philharmonic Orchestra, the Salt Lake Chapter of the  American Guild of Organists, the University of Utah Philharmonia, and the Fort Lewis College Wind  Ensemble. As an orchestral musician, she held the position of principal trumpet of the Westminster  Chamber orchestra and has performed with the San Juan Symphony, the Millennial Choir and Orchestra, the Salt Lake Choral Artists, and various university orchestras. Throughout her academic career, she has received the opportunity to perform with renowned musicians such as Maria Schneider, Wycliffe Gordon, Sean Jones, and Delfeayo Marsalis. 

Additionally, Maryna is currently pursuing her Doctorate at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, studying with Dr. Jason Bergman and Dr. Kris Kwapis. 

Beyond her performance career, Maryna is actively involved in the International Trumpet Guild, serving as New Editor and Social Media Coordinator.
